Several local leaders to join PAS – Youth Chief

KOTA KINABALU: Several local political leaders will be joining Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS), according to its Sabah youth chief, Lahirul Latigu.

Revealing this here yesterday, he said PAS spiritual leader cum Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat is expected to announce the names of the leaders during a state-level gathering to be organized by Sabah PAS next month.

“A special gathering called Himpunan Hijau ke Putrajaya will be held on September 1, to be attended by national PAS leaders, including president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Mohammad Sabu, vice presidents and committee members.


“Also expected to attend is Datuk Nik Aziz who will make an announcement on several local leaders from Sabah joining PAS,” he told reporters in a press conference to announce the gathering here yesterday.

Lahirul said he estimated around 5,000 PAS leaders, members and supporters would be attending the event, where the party would also hold its Hari Raya open house.

A special programme, Ekspresi Hijau Anak Muda, will also be organized by the youth movement in conjunction with the event to serve as a platform for gathering and bringing PAS leaders closer to the youth groups in Sabah.

“The gathering will also serve as an event to celebrate the spirit of independence to commemorate and appreciate Sabah’s 49 years of independence.

“PAS youth leaders will be at the function to meet and mingle with guests, especially the younger supporters. This will include its national chief ,Nasruddin Hassan, deputy chief Nik Abduh Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz, vice-youth chief Dr Raja Ahmad Al-Hiss.

He said the venue and time of the event would be finalized and announced later.

PAS Sabah mahu dua penulis anggotai panel RCI

KOTA KINABALU: PAS Sabah menggesa kerajaan pusat sebagai memasukkan dua pengarang yang menulis secara meluas mengenai ledakan luar biasa penduduk Sabah dalam panel Suruhanjaya Siasatan Diraja (RCI) mengenai masalah pendatang haram di negeri ini.

Mutalib Muhd Daud dan Dr. Chong Eng Leong telah menulis beberapa buah buku mengenai topik tersebut. Mutalib adalah anak kelahiran Kedah yang kini menetap di Sabah, manakala Chong menulis buku ketika beliau menjadi pemimpin PBS. Chong kini bersama PKR.

 
Ketua Publisiti Pemuda PAS Sabah, Mohd Firdaus Muhammad Nor berkata dewan itu tidak gembira dengan barisan anggota RCI kerana ia kekurangan pakar mengenai isu berkenaan


"Mutalib dan Chong telah terlibat dalam menulis pendedahan mengenai isu pendatang haram di Sabah," tegas Mohd Firdaus.


Beliau berkata seorang lagi tokoh pakar yang penting kepada panel tersebut ialah Tan Sri Simon Sipaun, yang telah melakukan penyelidikan terhadap topik tersebut ketika berkhidmat sebagai Naib Pengerusi Suruhanjaya Hak Asasi Manusia (SUHAKAM).


"Tidak ada seorang pun yang terbabit dalam siasatan tersebut yang benar-benar boleh mewakili rakyat Sabah," katanya.
